A lot of vehicle owners get offered protection packages at the dealership without really knowing what they’re paying for. Here’s my honest take on dealer add-ons, professional protection, and what actually matters when you want to protect your vehicle the right way.
When you buy a vehicle, especially a newer one, it makes sense to want to protect it.
What Every Vehicle Owner Should Know
That’s where a lot of people get hit with dealer add-ons. Paint protection, rustproofing, interior protection, glass treatments, warranties, package upgrades. It all gets offered fast, usually at the time of purchase, and most people are trying to make a decision on the spot.
I’ve seen it plenty of times.
The problem is not that protection is a bad idea. The problem is that a lot of people end up paying for something without really knowing what product is being used, how it’s being applied, or whether it’s even the best fit for their vehicle.

To me, professional protection should be straightforward.
